KARACHI: Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) MPA Nusrat Sahar Abbasi announced in the S
indh Assembly on Monday that she was
forgiving Imdad Pitafi after he put a
dupatta on her head and called her his sister.
In the assembly hall, Nusrat said, “What happened on Friday should not have taken place, it’s regrettable. Mine and my son’s feelings were hurt.”
She added, “For the sake of this
dupatta and because he called me his sister, I am
forgiving him. It is a tradition in Sindh that when a shawl is used as a sign of
forgiveness, then the other person accepts it.”
Nusrat added that it was upsetting when arguments lik
e the one that broke out on Friday occurred in the assembly.
She said, “I
had decided to take one extreme step, but Bilawal and Bakhtawar understood me.”
